Mention has built a solid reputation as a media monitoring platform, and for teams that need broad coverage of traditional web and social channels, it delivers consistently. The interface is clean, the alert system is reliable, and the collaborative features make it practical for agency teams. Where Mention falls short for AI-focused agencies is predictable: it was built before AI search engines became a significant brand discovery channel, and it has not meaningfully extended its coverage to include them. When we tested Mention against typical agency requirements for AI search visibility reporting — Share of Voice in ChatGPT, sentiment analysis from Perplexity responses, competitive benchmarking across Gemini — none of these were available. The platform also lacks white-label PDF export, which limits its utility for agencies delivering reports under their own branding. For agencies whose clients are beginning to ask about their AI search presence, Mention does not provide the data needed to answer those questions.
